I'm so excited about this. I honestly thought I'd be waiting for at least another week to be able to do them. But we got our W2s earlier than I had anticipated and because we are poor and don't have any loans on anything but our house, and we don't spend enough money on school supplies and donate enough money to to itemize all we needed was the mortgage tax form and W2 forms and off we go.
I'm so relieved. there have been plenty of things that we've just put off because of money. It's a sacrifice we all make to have me readily available and home for the kids (a different story once Ronan starts school.)
so the "shopping" list begins.
with these Taxes I am going to get a new couch... one that doesn't suck you down to the floor because the kids have destroyed the springs.
Timothy will be getting new glasses
the Car is getting new tires and a new thermostat
and the Dentist is going to become a rich man :)
oh, and I just thought of this...
I am packing my cupboards and freezer to bursting
oooo
and a new vacuum would be grand

Don't you love that feeling! At least when you don't have to PAY taxes. Refunds are wonderful! I haven't done our taxes yet since we're still waiting on a few things, but I'm hoping we get a good refund, too. Of course, my shopping list is very small. The entire refund amount will be going towards paying off our basement work. That's so depressing. A shed and a snowblower truly would have been lovely. (Sigh)
I do love that feeling. even more than having the taxes done is having our debt chiseled away. thanks to our returns in the last few years, we are down to the loan on our house.
that feels awesome!
I have a long term plan... unfortunately I can't do anything about it until next year at least. but the goal is that we will get to save our tax returns for a few years and have a good sized down payment for a much better house.
interestingly enough.. by the time we have the money for a newer and better home several of our kids will be grown and moved out.
I still want a bigger and better house.
That's a great goal! You may even make it there sooner if your store keeps taking off like it has been! Paying off those debts is such a great feeling! Once we get the basement taken care of we'll be back to just the mortgage again. I can't wait!
Getting a bigger and better house is a good plan, even if it is just you and Tim by that point. Besides, you'll still have kids and grandkids coming to visit and you'll need someplace to put them!
I commented 2 days ago and it did not show up. I am glad you got the taxes done and I am sure that you can accomplish all of these things. You are amazing Abby.
