Hi Abby! I'm stalking your blog now. Poor Emma. Those hives are so itchy. I had the same reaction three years ago, it was how I found out I was allergic to penicillin. I hope she gets over them quickly, and good luck to you, too!

I keep hearing more and more people who are allergic to penicillin. it's so strange how someone can take something just fine one day and the next it's a huge problem.
she had been taking amoxicillin for over a week already and I forgot to give her her morning dose so I gave her the next one after school which caused her to break out all over!
at least it was just hives instead of a far more life threatening reaction.
they did clear up pretty quickly. I gave her two doses of Benadryl and they were faded pink and no longer raised with the exception of a spot on her calf and her elbow. but she said that those didn't even itch.
